Columbus Coalition for Responsive Government

Wednesday, November 16, 2011, at the Ohio Historical Center the Columbus Coalition for Responsive Government held its first meeting.  There was a sizable  group of people representing many  neighborhoods around Columbus.  Jonathan Beard, Columbus Compact, welcomed the attendees; Bob Fitrakis, The Free Press Express, gave the history of the current Columbus City Council; Diann Thomas Beasley, Thomas Beasley & Assoc., spoke about why the change is needed, Willis Brown, Activist of the Bronzeville Neighborhood, addressed the Call for Action; and James Moore, Columbus State Community College, highlighted sections of the proposed ordinance.

The political arena in Columbus is one-sided.  Everything in this city is sewed up by the Democrats and because of this they have lost all objectivity to the people of this city.  The Coalition filed a certified copy of a petition that will be circulated to the Columbus voters, for signatures.  The ordinance proposal would change Columbus City Council  from the seven at-large members, to four at-large members, and seven from districts. The city deserves diversity and a higher quality of candidates than what we have currently.

Andrew Ginther opened the door for the the residents to fight back when he made the remark that the Coalition was doing this as a "political stunt". Mr. Beard released a video from Champion and Main St. corners illustrating the drug dealers dealing drugs all day, a young man shot dead in the middle of the street, and a young lady who pulled up in front of her house, with her 12 year old son, and a van shooting while she sat in her car.  Was that a stunt Mr. Ginther?  Is this what City Council has stooped to--mocking the residents when they cry out for help in protecting children, senior citizens and the neighborhoods.

The crime in Columbus is out of control and help is needed.  If you are interested in assisting in changing the City Charter please go to www.columbuscoalition.info for additional information.  We know that this ordinance will meet a lot of resistence from the local Democrats but changing the Charter is possible with everyone's assistance.

In 1914 the seven member council worked with 181,000 people--Columbus now has over 800,000 people and there is a need for additional, diverse members on Council.

Does Columbus City Council Members have Integrity?

I never thought I would wish to see Republicans on Columbus City Council.  Columbus like many large Urban metropolitan cities enjoy Democrats running their cities.  I too thought that this would be a good thing until just recently.

Jonathan Beard, CEO of an East side community organization, Compact, and numerous neighborhood organizations held a press conference last week.  The city leaders were invited, however only the Republicans and Libertarian candidates for City Council showed up.  Later the media met with Andrew Ginther, President of the Columbus City Council, and he stated that the press conference was a "...political stunt".  Murders, shootings, and drug dealings are political stunts?

Michele Mills who is the chair of the Safety Committee has no experience dealing with the police, firefighters or anything else that concerns the safety of Columbus neighborhoods.  I contacted Mills and Craig's offices to set up a meeting.  I have known both of these members for many years--I spoke to the aides.  I was told that they would call me back--that was in August.

My brother owns a home in a neighborhood that has been taken over by the drug dealers.  There are shootings at least twice a week, murders every couple of months, and drug dealings on the corners day and night, everyday.

Many of these young men do not live in the neighborhood--the police has been called, many, many, many times and nothing was done.  A young couple with a small child had their home shot-up, my brother has a bullet hole in his van, a neighbor had his truck shot up and a bullet went through the window of a young  child.  A house was burnt down twice and the garage.

Police officers will sometimes, get out of the cruiser and approach the young men-- the young men curse the police officers.  The officers retreat to their cruisers and move on.  The murders, drug dealers, and shootings are out of control, and no one in city government will not address the problem.  They are not willing to come to the table to find a solution for the neighborhoods who are under siege from the drug dealers.

I called Columbus Metropolitan Housing Authority to alert them to drug dealings in homes that are rented by women who hold a Section 8 certificate. I have notified the owners of the homes and CMHA, but they also have looked the other way.  An older lady allows her grandchildren to hang out and sell drugs at her house and this continues even though CMHA was notified in April, 2011.

When will the leaders  of Columbus step up to the plate and protect it's citizens of Columbus?  The Democrats has a smug  attitude that they are in charge and the neighborhoods have no recourse.  The entire city is sewed-up by the Democrats.

Voters take a look at the leaders of Columbus and vote out members that refuse to do their job. Just like in Washington DC, no one listens to the voter.   We need leaders with integrity and who have not been "bought" and paid for by the big corporations, even in Columbus.

And you profess to be a Christian...

Today in Georgia the parole board refused to stop the murder of Troy Davis who has professed his innocence since his arrest.  Most of the witnesses were coerced by the police and out and out lied.

Seven of the nine witnesses stood before the parole board and told them that they had lied.on the witness stand, and stated they were told to lie by the local police.

Is killing an innocent person really retaliation for the murder of a police officer?  I am ashamed of being an American when social atrocities happen of this magnitude.  If there is just one doubt, then how do you murder an innocent man?  Is this a racist move, or uncaring or just ignorance?

We can continue to make phone calls and emails to the Governor and District Attorney in Georgia, but we must put this is God's hands.  Only He can make the change.  Please pray for Mr. Davis and his family.

We need elected officials with integrity...do you know any?

Obama announces debt plan built on taxes on rich
Why are the Republicans so dead-set against taxing the rich?  This stand of theirs is so far out of line, even their beloved Reagan taxed the rich.  When Clinton was in office, there was a surplus when he left office.  Everyone was paying their fair share--how much money does Murdoch, the Koch brothers, etc. need?  This is pure greed on the part of the Republicans and the 'teabaggers".

What is so perplexing to me is that many of the "teabaggers" are not wealthy people.  Are they still waiting for the "trickle down theory" to succeed.  History and statistics indicate that since Reagan, George H.W. Bush, George W. Bush, the "trickle down theory" does not work.

I was watching Jay Leno and he made a comment that he had no problem paying more taxes if it will help America get back on its feet.
Jobs have not been created by the rich corporations--this is what Boehner and his goons keep telling us.

Do you believe the Republican's plan is to keep big corporations and the rich from creating jobs to grow the economy?  I believe that the Republicans want our President to fail and not to not receive credit for turning the economy around under his presidency.

The Republicans couldn't win in 2008--now their plan is to change legislation like  Senate Bill 5 and House Bill 194 to make it difficult for voters to vote.  If you can't win fairly then they will cheat and do whatever it takes.

I believe we need a system of checks and balance.  Politicians are so corrupt today, they have been bought and paid for by the highest bidder.  What can we do to change the climate in Ohio and across the nation?  Why do voters continue to put people in office that are clearly not willing to put the Working Class above their own party.
ka-sick told the voters, while running for office, of what he intended to do to the Middle Working Class, and yet the voters voted for him.  The Republicans are attempting to run the unions out business.  Why?  Because the unions have always supported the Democratic tickets. We have an uncaring political House and Senate who use their power to disenfranchise voters. We need politicians with integrity, even in adversity and when their colleagues are paying them a boat-load of cash, for their vote.

Of Course Fox Kills The Joke...It's Truth About Them

Fox kills Alec Baldwin's Emmy joke about its huge company scandal

Rupert Murdoch's Fox network cut a joke by Alec Baldwin about the company's phone hacking scandal out of a skit for Sunday's Emmy Awards, causing Baldwin to pull out of the ceremony.

Deadline was the first to report the news, and Baldwin confirmed it on Twitter.
"Fox did kill my NewsCorp hacking joke," Baldwin wrote. "Which sucks bc I think it would have made them look better. A little."

Baldwin had made a reference to the omission in an earlier tweet, writing, "I did a short Emmy pretape a few days ago. Now they tell me NewsCorp may cut the funniest line. #NewsCorphumorlessaswellascorrupt."

Ka-sick gives the GOP rasises and others go hungry...

We can always count on the Republicans to take care of the rich, who needs no help and punish those who need assistance.  There are thousands of people in Ohio who need assistance for food, housing, clothing and jobs.  Ka-sick and the Republican legislators, where are the jobs?

Where did ka-sick find money to give Republican Aides raises and bonuses?  On the other hand ka-sick is attempting to collapse the unions and to take collective bargaining off the table, because state employees make too much money.

How much of this makes any kind of sense.  ka-sick and the Republican party has been bought and paid for by the Koch brothers and other crooked corporations.  I wonder what is going to happen when ka-sick can not deliver?  Issue 2 (SB5) and HB 194 will go down in defeat.

Once we deliver on our promise to defeat ka-sick at his own game, then it is time to amend  the Ohio Constitution to be able to recall ka-sick and all the Republicans who are against the Middle Class Working People.

We read stories in the newspaper and hear stories on radio and television that many people are going hungry in these hard economic times, but at the same time, there are other stories about how obese many of us are.

Amerians you are being killed slowly...

www.naturalnews.com
Merck vaccine scientist Dr. Maurice Hilleman admitted presence of SV40, AIDS and cancer viruses in vaccines

The year that the "swine flu" hit America--the vaccine was made available to children, seniors and pregnant women first.  My son and I looked up what was present in the flu vaccine and we found the presence of something that sterilizes both women and men, formaldehyde, mercury and other things that I could not pronounce.  I told others and some believed me and some didn't.

I went to see a doctor for another issue and after the doctor left the room a nurse entered with a syringe.  I asked her what it was for and she told me it was my flu shot--I stated "you will not put this in my body."  The nurse looked like I had shot her.  I do not take "legal drugs" for any reason.  I will take my chances...
